Late Nineteenth Century Tuscan Villa

Project summary

Complete renovation of a nineteenth-century villa, starting from the consolidation of the walls, with lime-based plasters. The roofs were rebuilt using the villa’s original materials, wood and tiles. Inside, the rooms were redesigned to adapt to modern life. We used natural materials, and all the technological systems have been entirely redone. Leaving the character of the structure untouched, we used a combination of different materials for the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms, harmonizing modern design materials with ancient wooden beams and terracotta and marble floors. The original floors of the time were recovered in almost the entire house. Outside the house, we installed a swimming pool and sauna area. The project started in 2012 with about twenty skilled workers and lasted almost 2 years.
